Nattergal is a small group of San Francisco Bay Area musicians who play
and sing Scandinavian folk music: primarily dance tunes (both
gammaldans and bygdedans), with some music just for
Our repertoire is drawn mainly from
traditional Scandinavian sources but also includes original compositions
by members of the group and unique arrangements and harmonies.
Instrumentation includes fiddle, accordion, cittra, guitar, hardingfele,
recorder and munnharpe, with vocals in Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish,
Icelandic and Danish. Nattergal has been performing
with varying membership, in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as other parts
of the USA and Scandinavia.

Nattergal is available for festivals, dances, concerts, parties, weddings, and other events. Musicians perform in various groupings and configurations, with additional musicians included as called for by the requirements of the occasion.
